The market of photovoltaic energy is rapidly growing around the world. Large plants - Sostenya builds and manages large PV plants. The Group Sostenya also acts as a general contractor, coordinating the activities of large power plants from renewable sources in association with third-party companies. RetailSostenya businesses focus on energy efficiency and smart solutions for both retail and corporate customers.

The supply of PV systems is only a part of the package of products and services provided by the Company; following the efficiency principles, therefore energy and cost saving, we offer smart grid system, remote control heating, led and smart plug solutions.

Wind power: a continuously rising trend

The wind power industry had a remarkable growth in recent years and the future forecasts show continued growth up to 30% per year. Sostenya Group invested precisely in this direction through its subsidiaries with particular attention to the environmental impact and the harmonization of wind farm into the surrounding environment.

During the years, the corporate management of Sostenya Group gained successfull experience in the design and installation of wind power farms in some areas of Southern Italy that are particularly windy. In each project, the management works to find the most suitable technological solution in order to achieve the following goals: to guarantee the best performance of the plant and simultaneously to preserve the value of the Environment and reduce the environmental impact of the turbines and the necessary infrastructures.

District Heating

Heating with lower emissions

According to the Kyoto Protocol, district heating is one of the most effective way to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. The heating for residential and commercial buildings is obtained from a cogeneration plant and directly supplied through a district heating network. This system can provide higher efficiencies and better pollution control than standard boilers.

We are active in this field through one of our subsidiary. This company serves the province of Turin: producing and supplying electricity and heating to homes and industrial properties. Through a network of over 50 km, we provide heating to approximately 600 buildings and more than 12,000 families, with a volume of about 5 million cubic meters.

Waste and Organics: Two Sources of Clean Fuels

We believe in the close correlation and synergy between the Environment and Renewable Energy. Through the subsidiaries operating in the environmental sector, Waste Italia extended the concept of waste recovery. Waste to Energy is the process of generating energy from the primary treatment of waste in order to produce biogas, a "green fuel” that can be used to produce electricity and heat.

Advantages

  • Primary energy resources saved;
  • To avoid the production of greenhouse gas generated by power plants that use fossil fuels;
  • to reduce the number of landfills.

In the case of unselected waste in landfills, the natural degradation process produces gases that are captured, cleaned and burned in dedicated engines in order to produce energy that is locally used to satisfy landfill needs. Food and garden waste (from agro-food industry, farm residual, animal manure) are collected, selected and treated in anaerobic digesters.
The anaerobic digestion is the breakdown of organic materials into methane and carbon dioxide gas; actually, Biogas is the name given to the mixture of gas formed during the anaerobic digestion of organic wastes.
Anaerobic digestion allows the production of a clean energy and has a positive impact on local agriculture and recycling waste. Sostenya Group has a strong record of accomplishment in biogas both from landfills plants and from anaerobic digestion plants in Europe and worldwide through projects and collaborations with dozens of plants designed, constructed and managed.

Bio Methane

Sostenya Group is making a special effort to developing technology to developing new technologies and switch biogas with bio-methane. Bio-methane is produced from “fresh” organic matter; it has a number of environmental benefits, which make it a green source of energy. Bio-methane production eliminates the release of a great deal of methane and other harmful gases into the atmosphere.
This is because its production eliminates exposure of the decomposing organic matter to the air that prevents methane and other gases from escaping into the atmosphere. 

Since bio-methane is chemically identical to natural gas, it can be used for the same applications as natural gas. It can be used for electricity generation, water heating, space heating, cooking as well as to fuel vehicles. Bio-methane offers great potential as an alternative source of energy, especially to fossil fuels.
